iXAMiner swiftly decodes logical or full file system acquisitions
iXAMiner is a new analysis and reporting tool for information extracted from an Apple iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad device. When coupled with iXAM®, the zero-footprint forensic acquisition tool for these devices, it is able to analyse and report a quality and quantity of information which is unparalleled by any other data extraction and reporting tool.
The iPhone Software operating system stores data in a number of different formats, most of which contain encoded information which is not readily readable by untrained personnel. Information may be stored in packed database formats, encoded XML files, plain XML files or other filesystem objects.
Extracting the information from these data stores has, until now, been a painstaking process requiring both a considerable amount of skill on the part of the investigator, and a significant degree of interpretation of the resulting information. iXAMiner simplifies and speeds up this process by automating the production of an exhibit report for each device acquisition.
